Anticipating Joy

The Angels told the Shepherds that they were bringing "good news of great joy."
That didn't mean the Shepherds were promoted.
That didn't mean the Roman government had been replaced with a Jewish one.
That didn't mean the Shepherds' families would no longer get sick.

It did mean that God was here. And that changes everything.
